Podcasts and photography
I love listening to a podcast, whether I am driving to a photoshoot or event or out walking my girl, Spice.
I was listening to a podcast yesterday when I was walking , it had nothing to do with photography but it resonated with me.
The podcast was a top chef being interviewed. He said that he wants all his chefs to be a little bit sad when they give every single dish they have made to the waiter to take out to the diners because they don't get to eat that dish. That it looks so great they want to eat it, they have put their heart and soul into that dish and that makes the difference to this chef between a good dish and a great dish.
When I take and create photos, I want to create the the photos I wish I had of my dogs. I take that photo and edit that photo with the same view of putting my heart and soul into them, its never "just" pushing a shutter button and tweaking them in the editing process. I put all of me into the images.
If you are interested this particular podcast was the high performance podcast, and the chef talking on the podcast was Tom Kerridge
The high performance podcast is one of my favourites but some of the others I enjoy are
